Brent Needham | Managing Director
Brent is the founder and Managing Director of Kennedy Needham. He has over thirty years experience in corporate advisory, merchant banking, international management consulting and corporate doctor fields.
Brent has completed numerous transactions globally including acquisitions, divestments, MBOs and corporate consolidation work for organisations such as Telstra, Commonwealth/Colonial Bank, Myer, Envirozel, Mattel, IOOF, Blentech and NH Architecture.
His career has included managing major national and international assignments for Andersen Consulting and the Elders Finance Group. Brent was an advisor to a major Federal Royal Commission and was CEO of State Trustees and the St Kilda Football Club.
Guy Aird | CEO Kennedy Needham Capital
Guy is the CEO of Kennedy Needham Capital, the Equity Capital Markets arm of Kennedy Needham. He has over 20 years experience in Securities advice, stockbroking and corporate advisory.
Guy has participated in numerous buy and sell side capital raisings on the ASX varying from mining to industrial sectors as well as holding two board positions on Biotech companies as they moved through a complete restructure.
He is well versed in the intricacies of ASX Back Door listings, placements and IPOs and maintains a strong relationship with numerous investment market industry participants.
Andrew Perkins
Andrew has over 25 years experience in commercial, merchant, investment banking and the corporate advisory fields, both in Australia and Asia.
He has been involved in an extensive range of activities including financial and key risk analysis of companies both for Australian and International banks and corporates. He has acted as corporate advisor to a number of listed and unlisted companies particularly regarding all aspects of equity and quasi / hybrid equity capital raisings and IPOs on the ASX and international capital markets in both the UK and US.
He has successfully negotiated a number of corporate sales, business divestments, acquisitions & mergers and MBOs.
Drew Williams
Drew originally trained as a lawyer and spent his early years practising in taxation and commercial law. He has a rich merchant banking history in public company acquisitions & mergers, and more latterly has become involved in the funding and commercialisation of early stage high-technology ventures as an adviser, mentor, funder and portfolio manager. His present key focus is in the IT & telecommunications fields.
He presently serves as a director of three emerging high technology companies and has also undertaken direct 'angel' investments in several domains. He understands intimately the needs of early stage technology Enterprises as they seek to commercialise, and is a member of the Due Diligence Panel of the Federal Government funded Australian Technology Showcase.
Michael Shaw
Michael has more than 25 years experience in the merchant banking, investment banking, venture and development capital, private equity, and specialist funds management fields. He is particularly skilled and experienced in all phases of commencing, growing and subsequently developing and transitioning middle market private companies / businesses as they move through their life cycles.
He has also successfully led both companies as MD, and Boards as Chairman, in both the commercial and also not-for-profit (NFP) sectors of the Australian economy, and has been a pivotal figure in the transfer of business skills to several leading Australian NFPs. He has acted in over 50 transactions in both the Australian major and middle market segments in equity capital & debt & specialist fund raisings, venture capital raisings, acquisitions, MBOs, divestitures and corporate advisory assignments.
Robert Lyon
Rob has over 20 years' experience in an extensive range of legal, corporate advisory and senior management roles. He has advised on a broad range of commercial transactions, principally for mergers and acquisitions, in a variety of sectors including transport and logistics, manufacturing, retail, and technology. He has serviced a client base throughout Australia and internationally, and advised on all facets of transactions including strategic advice, due diligence, transaction analysis, and deal negotiation.
He worked for a number of years as CEO of a private investment company with responsibility for management of a portfolio of investments across a range of industries. Rob also worked for many years as a lawyer advising on a broad range of commercial legal matters.
Paul Hill
Prior to undertaking a key role in the business divestiture and capital raising activities of Kennedy Needham, Paul operated successfully at CEO level for more than 20 years managing large consumer goods companies in both Australia and Asia.
He previously worked for Black and Decker, GE Thomson, Mattel and HWI (Breville/Kambrook). During his time at HWI Paul successfully led several capital raisings, divestments and acquisition transactions. Paul has most recently worked in China for five years setting up joint ventures and then running large manufacturing operations for brands such as Colgate, Bissell, Westinghouse and De-Walt.
His particular emphasis in recent times within Australia is in the domains of food franchising, engineering services, chemical, forestry and infrastructure.
Erik Budiman
Erik is a Consultant with Kennedy Needham Corporate Advisors and has over five years of professional experience in Risk Consulting, Derivatives Trading and Corporate Advisory in both Australia and Asia.
At Kennedy Needham, he has assisted in completing a number of transactions including acquisitions, divestments, capital raisings and business valuations for clients in various industry sectors, including facilities management, fashion, wholesale distribution and manufacturing. Erik provides vital transactional support during all phases of M&A transactions including detailed financial modelling, preparation of information memoranda and over seeing due diligence investigations.
Lucas Couper
Lucas is a Senior Associate with Kennedy Needham Corporate Advisors. He is very active in the acquisition and disposal of family businesses. Typically he assists large family businesses in restructuring, resolution of internal issues, examination of expansion opportunities. His core focus is hire, transport, franchising and manufacturing. He works closely with both private equity and trade buyers to assist them in sourcing new opportunities.
